Alexander Minewski on Monhegan
Alexander Minewski began painting on Monhegan Island in 1954. After spending two years in Burma recovering from wounds he received during World War II, he studied in Paris and in New York with Hans Hoffman who influenced his work to be more abstract and expressionistic. His work is included in Monhegan: The Artists Island by June and Will Curtis.
